Emerald Class

Emerald Class is a Reception- Year 3 class. Our whole school is like one lovely big family so we also work closely with our Year 4,5 and 6 children in school too. Our classroom is situated within the main building which is old and beautiful.

Every day we do English (reading, writing, spelling, phonics, speaking, stories) and maths and during the week we also do Science, Art, RE, PE, History/Geography .

We have Collective Worship every day. We regularly visit St. Helen’s church in the village for Collective Worship and for special celebration services we go to Christ the Consoler.

We are very lucky and have amazing grounds at Skelton Newby Hall Primary School and spend a lot of time outside playing, caring for our chickens, guinea pigs and also growing things in our allotment garden. We also do a run every day on the school field to help us to keep fit.

We enjoy learning and find lots of hands on and practical ways to embed our learning.
