We made Christingles yesterday and the children loved the process of making them. We talked about what each element represented. The orange represents the world, the red ribbon represents love, the candle represents Jesus the light of the world, the 4 sticks represent the four corners of the world, North, South,East, West, or the  4 seasons Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. Then the sweets represent the fruits of the world nurtured by the sun and rain.

Today the children drew the Christingles from memory, they remembered each element and some labelled all the elements independently. I am so proud of the children, drawing all the parts,  remembering all the facts, sounding out all the words and doing a super piece of work.
