Vikings and Anglo Saxons

Today, while the year 6 children have been on a day trip to London, we have been very busy back at school. The year 4 and 5 children brainstormed then researched facts for their Anglo-Saxon topic and the year 2 and 3 children did the same for their viking topic. The children are very good at researching facts on the ipads and they recorded these in small groups.

Later we created time line cards for each of the periods in history.

This afternoon we have had great fun making Viking long ships. The children chose from a variety of scrap card and had to design, make and decorate their own viking boat. It was really interesting to see how they coped with pesky sticky tape and awkward fastenings but in the end they all created the beginnings of a boat which can be finished at a later date.
